Water = Moisture

Moisturizing your hair while in a protective style is very important. Many people believe that oil or grease alone will moisturize the hair and scalp. This is a very common misconception. Water = Moisture. Throughout the duration of your style, you must be careful not to add excessive oils to your hair. This could lead to build up, clogged hair follicles, and the over production of dandruff. Excessive oils can also block the follicle from receiving the proper oxygen it needs to grow. We recommend using a leave in spray such as Design Essentials Bamboo & Silk once or twice a week (depending on your level of dryness) and following up with a very light oil such as Design Essentials Anti-Itch Anti-Tension Oil.
